Panama Wildlife Conservation
Protecting Panama's wildlife through science and local action
Our Story
PWC was born from a personal and scientific journey closely linked to Panama. From an early age, its founder engaged in environmental volunteering, birdwatching, and wildlife photography in Veraguas with local organizations.
This calling was strengthened through biology studies and experience at scientific institutions such as Gorgas and Smithsonian. Academic development in Europe added an international and structured conservation perspective.
PWCC is registered in the United Kingdom and Panama. Its philosophy is based on long-term alliances with local organizations and communities to build innovative conservation strategies.
Panama Wildlife Conservation was born from a personal and scientific path deeply connected to Panamanian territory. From an early age, its founder developed a direct connection with nature through birdwatching, wildlife photography, and environmental volunteering in Veraguas, participating in conservation, environmental education, and ecological restoration activities with local organizations.
This calling was reinforced by academic training in biology and professional experience at high-level scientific institutions such as Instituto Gorgas, Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute, and INDICASAT. Later, academic development in Europe, including postgraduate and doctoral studies in the United Kingdom, helped integrate an international, scientific, and structured vision of conservation.
PWCC is a registered charity in England and Wales (1165769) with a Panama Legal Status No. 347-PJ-347. Central to Panama Wildlife Conservation is building strong long-term partnerships with local organizations and communities in Panama to develop innovative conservation strategies.
Who We Are
Panama Wildlife Conservation is a scientific and community-based organization made up of researchers, biologists, environmental educators, and local and international collaborators. Our team includes Panamanian and British scientists with expertise in conservation, ecology, wildlife monitoring, ecosystem restoration and environmental education.
We work mainly in Panama, with emphasis on Veraguas and Azuero, regions with highly threatened ecosystems and critically endangered species. Our work combines field research, species monitoring, environmental education, and direct collaboration with rural communities, schools, and local stakeholders.
PWC is legally registered in both the United Kingdom and Panama and operates under clear policies of transparency, ethics, anti-corruption, and responsible fund management.
